I hope you will find what you are looking for.If you don't, call or write to any of our officers. I am available 24 hrs everday to try to help if you are in an emergency situation. In our Post the Veteran is #1 and his or her family.Look at our picture album and see some of the things we do as a legion family. You will find our post is very busy and we have a lot of fun.
One of the reasons why is because we don't have to pay for or take care of a Post Hall or building. We hold our meetings at the Milwaukee War Memorial on the beautiful lake front. Free parking and quick freeway access.
For special occasions we rent a hall. Every year we have a family Xmas party, a family picnic at Wilson Park, and an Officers Installation dinner.
I hope we can interest you in joining our Post. Check us out! Our meetings are every third Monday of the month at 7:00pm. Refreshments after the meetings, No meetings in the summer.
We are not a bunch of old Veterans who sit around and play cards and drink beer, except at our picnic. We do march in parades, have a color guard, firing squad, visit the Vet's at the VA Hospital and do various things at schools just to name a few.Our only fund raiser is Bingo every Thursday night at 7:00 pm at 45 & Forest Home Avenu and about 1/2 the Saturdays in the year at 6:30pm. Our legion family works the Bingo's. Come on down and check us out or call and I will be glad to send you more information about why you should join the american Legion. Get involved helping other Veteran's and their families and you will feel really good and yes we do have female Veterans in our Post.
